A lyricist himself with more than 200 original songs to his name, he translated English hit song 'Sunny' and others into Malay. They were recorded by The Quests in the late 60s. His own compositions have been recorded by numerous Malay pop artistes.
On 14th January, '09 I arranged for an interview to meet this great man. He is Mr. Mohd. Noor Bin Mohd. Yusuf better known as Yusnor Ef, the expert on Malay music in Singapore, Malaysia and the Far East. He is an old friend.
Yusnor is also a connoisseur on P. Ramlee's life and work and has produced numerous documentaries on the actor, TV and film production and Malay culture.
He has written a book in Malay on 60s music, 'Aku, Dia dan Lagu Lagu Nostalgia' and another on P. Ramlee. He is now writing a book in English on the same topics.
Yusnor has a bio-data that fills pages since he won numerous awards. He is a true blue Singaporean but works from his office in Kuala Lumpur.
